“To Drown a Sea” was written for the JongNBE, the Dutch Wind Ensemble education program. It was written for the Young Talent Festival Schiermonnikoog 2020, which was unfortunately canceled due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. The premiere was streamed live during the 2021 edition of the Young Talent Festival Schiermonnikoog.
“To Drown a Sea” tells of the effects of climate change on the Wadden sea that stretches along the coasts of the Netherlands, Germany, and Denmark, and the beauty that will be lost if we don’t act right now.
